Job 1: Senior Research Associate / Associate Scientist / Scientist I

We are looking for an individual to facilitate the development of Nutcracker’s mRNA platform. This individual will perform in vitro and in vivo assays to characterize novel mRNA designs and novel therapeutics concepts. The ideal candidate will bring scientific rigor, passion, and creativity to Nutcracker Therapeutics, and is eager to grow in a multi-disciplinary working environment. 

Responsibilities:

  • Perform functional assays, including flow cytometry, ELISA, and Luminex, to probe the expression and efficacy of novel mRNA designs.
  • Perform assays to track the levels of mRNA and delivery vehicles in the target tissues. 
  • Quantify the levels of in vivo editing by genotyping and bioanalytical assays. 
  • Generate and QC Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) libraries. 
  • Collaborate extensively across teams as needed and contribute to efforts to meet company goals, including ad hoc production campaigns.
  • Properly document experimental notes, protocols, and results in a clear manner; prepare and present project progress on a regular basis.  
     

Job 2: Research Associate / Senior Research Associate – mRNA Technology

We are looking for an individual to support the internal mRNA generation and to facilitate the development of Nutcracker’s mRNA platform. The ideal candidate is collaborative, attentive to details, and adaptable to changing priorities. We will support your growth in the multidisciplinary working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manufacture mRNA through manual or automated template generation and IVT (in vitro transcription) workflows.
  • Conceptualize and test novel methods to improve our product yield and purity.
  • Program and optimize automated processes for mRNA production and assays.
  • Perform assays to track the levels of mRNA and delivery vehicles in the target tissues.
  • Collaborate extensively across teams as needed and contribute to efforts to meet company goals, including helping the engineering team implement developed production process onto our manufacturing machine.
  • Properly document experimental notes, protocols, and results in a clear manner; prepare and present project progress on a regular basis.

 

Job 3: Technician, mRNA Manufacturing Operations

The Technician, mRNA Manufacturing Operations role will execute mRNA production batches at the NTX manufacturing facility. This position is onsite in our Emeryville location and can be either full-time or contract.

Responsibilities

  • Follow written Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to execute the various unit steps to manufacture mRNA including Template generation, IVT, Mixing, TFF and Filling operations.
  • Diligently document all the steps performed and any discrepancies in manufacturing batch records.
  • Escalate any technical and operational issues to the supervisor and perform remedial actions.
  • Help in trouble shooting activities as required.
