During my graduate training, I developed my interest in cilia biology and lung biology, and have received broad training of lung physiology, molecular cell biology and cell imaging. In the laboratory of Dr. Michael J Welsh/HHMI at the University of Iowa, I explored how Sonic Hedgehog signaling regulates physiologic function in human differentiated airway epithelia. In my postdoc training in He lab at UC-Berkeley, I utilized my knowledge to further investigate the role of non-coding miRNA in cilia biology in the context of lung and brain development and disease.
