Postdoc

Mary Hynes, Stanford University

Pronouns: he/him

I have a PhD in Molecular Cell Biology from Sungkyunkwan University, South Korea, where I worked on non-canonical nucleic acid structures such as G-quadruplexes, Z-DNA, and cruciform DNA. I researched the prevalence of G-quadruplexes in regulatory regions in humans and viruses and evaluated their effect on transcription and translation. Currently, I am a postdoc in the Hynes Lab in Stanford University Dept of Biology and work on 3'UTRs and their implications on gene regulation and the role of CDS/3'UTR ratios in cancer and neurodegenerative disorders.
