Lars Steinmetz, Stanford University

Pronouns: he/him

I am interested in studying the effects of mutations at multiple scales, to build predictive, cell-type and cellular context aware models of genotype-phenotype relationships and using these models for synthetic biology (i.e. protein engineering). Currently a postdoc at Stanford Genetics with Lars Steinmetz, using mutagenesis screens, genetic interaction mapping, and protein language models. Also building synthetic mitochondrial genomes with a team at Powerhouse Bio. Previously was a PhD student at UCSF/UCB Bioengineering, working with Tanja Kortemme.
