Aras Mattis is a UCSF Pathologist, and his research laboratory is dedicated to understanding the molecular underpinnings in human liver disease and carcinogenesis. The Mattis lab uses stem cell-derived human liver cells including hepatocytes and gene editing technologies such as CRISPR-Cas9 to study molecular circuits in human liver regeneration and disease. He is particularly interested in non-coding RNA, including microRNA and novel RNA mechanisms in the regulation of cellular pathways.
