I am a postdoc working in department of Medicine. My work describes the epidemiology of drug resistance malaria throughout the world and genes related to it. I am also interested in exploring the mechanistic details explaining the drug resistance and its emergence. In my PhD I have explored the mechanistic details of Mefloquine involving a novel pathway. I am looking for genomics and transcriptomics studies responsible for emergence of antimalarial drug resistivity in clinical isolates. The expression level of various genes and transcripts are playing a major role in the emergence of drug resistant parasites.
